Everything we do is about the young people. We take into account the confidential information, pupil updates and SIMD data. We get to know our young people. We ask their opinions and listen to what they are saying (and often not saying). We talk to colleagues, pupil support and key teachers. We take time to build relationships.
Learning is a result of listening, which in turn leads to even better listening and attentiveness to the other person. In other words, to learn from the child, we must have empathy, and empathy grows as we learn.

All teaching staff have been given their own copy of When the Adults Change by Paul Dix. Staff originally focussed on Meet and Greet, Scripted Conversations and Visible consistency.
New staff and probationers are trained by Annette Devoy throughout the session.
